A hot young soap opera star famous for her roles in One Life To Live and Another World has passed away at the young age of forty-nine. Robyn Griggs spent her last days in hospice care and died on August 13, 2022. Her father announced the television star’s untimely death via a Facebook post late last week and confirmed that her life was taken after she battled bravely against a case of cervical cancer.
Although Griggs fought bravely against cancer, she revealed in July that more tumors had spread throughout her body, and her prognosis was not looking so good. Back in July, Robyn shared a Facebook post about her condition, writing the following on the social media site.
“Hi, I have an update, unfortunately. I have four new tumors. Two new tumors on my liver, one on the abdominal muscle and a large one on the right side lymph node. So in pain, and I go to chemo Monday am. I told them whatever it takes. I’m in for the fight. I’ll be very sore, nauseous, etc., but who knows, maybe it works and relieves some pain. You never know. Please keep those prayers coming. Hugs to all!!!”
The announcement was made on August 13, 2022, that Robyn Griggs had passed away. Her father wrote the following on her Facebook page to let her fans know the truth about what had happened so they could pray for her in the afterlife.
“With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing. However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories. I will never forget how open she was to telling her story and accepting of me helping her tell it. She wanted to help people and spread the word about her story to do it. I was honored to do so. RIP, my friend. I love you and smile when I think of you.”
Two days prior, a Facebook page announcement revealed that Robyn had gone into hospice care so she could spend the final days of her life in a state of comfort rather than bitter pain.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news from Robyn’s Father that Robyn will enter hospice care today or tomorrow. She has fought with determination, strength, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational. Please continue to keep Robyn and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
Robyn was born on April 30, 1973, in Tunkhannock, PA. Her first television appearance was on Nickelodeon’s Rated K, which was a popular program featuring young people reviewing films that ran from 1986 to 1988. In addition to her work on soap operas, Robyn also appeared in several feature films, including Severe Injuries (2003), Dead Clowns (2004), The Absence of Light (2006), and Hellweek (2010).
Robyn was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2020. In recent years, she had been going by the name Robyn Griggs Wiley.
